Wooden Toys Toy Material
The most common materials for wooden toys sold in the domestic market are: pine, lotus, basswood, basswood plywood, MDF (wood composite board, often called MDF), beech, and rubber wood.
Pine: the cheapest (imported ones are more expensive), lighter, whiter, with a larger wood grain, and easier to break than other woods.
Lotus wood: It is most often used as wooden toys. The price is higher than that of pine wood, with high density, heavier weight, uniform texture and resistance to falling. Basswood: Beige, light in weight, no wood grain, fall-resistant, more expensive than the previous two.
Basswood plywood: easy to cut, often used to make wooden puzzles.
MDF: MDF, easy to cut, brown, commonly used in water-mixed (painted) parts of wooden toys, cheap.
Beech: The grain is uniform, the cross section is a bit like rice grains, little by little, the price is higher than that of lotus, and it is also resistant to falling.
Rubber wood: Toys made of this wood are mostly exported, mainly for children of very young age. They feel very good and are very safe.
In addition, the price of imported wood is generally higher than that of domestic wood, which is better. Whether it is resistant to falling depends on whether it has been dried before processing. Drying is a measure of time. If the time is not well controlled, many times the wood will crack.
The wooden toys are mainly used in the above. Generally speaking, wooden blocks are quite durable. Considering the cost performance, lotus is the best and most practical.
